'Homecoming' features a kea, the world’s only mountain parrot, which is considered ‘taonga’ (treasure) to the Maori people of New Zealand.
I painted this piece in my favourite hues of greens and golds before I left the UK, in my excitement to return home to New Zealand. It holds a special place in my heart as the transitional painting that sits between both worlds.
