"On the fifth day of creation God filled the sky and seas with living creatures."

My 2024 solo exhibition 'New Earth' explored our divine connection to nature and the cosmos via the book of Genesis’ creation story, exploring the innate bond between humans and animals.

In this piece 'The Fifth Day of Creation' I celebrate our beautiful sea creatures.

The fluidity of the ocean, the detail of the turtle, it all came together just days before the exhibition opened! It was such a joy to paint.

This was my favourite piece from the 'New Earth' exhibition, and one of the largest.

Acrylic on canvas. Finished with a water based satin varnish.
