'The Fourth Day of Creation'

"On the fourth day of creation God created the sun, moon, and stars."

My 2024 solo exhibition 'New Earth' explored our divine connection to nature and the cosmos via the book of Genesis’ creation story. A cosmogonic story that took the viewer from the Earth’s conception over six days through to the seventh, the Sabbath, a period of peace and prosperity, or to some: the ‘New Earth’.

In this piece 'The Fourth Day of Creation', I portray the day and night skies, with some sweeping textured elements and shimmering silver detail in between.

Oil and silver leaf on board. Finished with a satin varnish.
