'The Second Day of Creation'

"On the second day of creation God created the sky."

My 2024 solo exhibition, New Earth, explored our divine connection to nature and the cosmos through the lens of the Genesis creation story. This cosmogonic journey invited viewers to witness the unfolding of the Earth — from its birth over six sacred days to the seventh, the Sabbath: a symbol of peace, restoration, and, to some, the promise of a New Earth.

In this piece, The Second Day of Creation, I celebrate the sky — described in Genesis as an “expanse” — the moment when God separated the waters above from the waters below. It’s a tribute to the vastness of the heavens, the breath between worlds, and the elemental power of air and water in divine harmony.
